Christmas is creeping up on us! I, for one, am excited. This season is always such a beautiful time of joy, connection, and reflection. There’s something so enjoyable about the gatherings, the food, having my husband off work for a few days, watching the joy of my children over various Christmas traditions and special experiences, and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. I can’t wait to soak it all in–and I like to start early so that I don’t miss a thing.
One of my hopes is that my children learn to love this season. We understand and will teach them that Christmas is about so much more than presents, trees, and food. However, I am thankful that God gave us the opportunity in our earthly bodies to experience the joy of such things. What a good God that gave us the ability to find joy in food, people, and different activities! Whatever your traditions or favourite things may be this Christmas, I hope that even in the midst of the busyness and fun, that you are able to slow down and soak in the Truth of God sending His son as a baby and the free gift of grace we’ve been given.
